SMF has always prided itself on crafting programs of diversity and range. This concert stretches from Monteverdi, a pioneer in vocal music and opera in 17th-century Italy, to Ligeti’s Two Studies for Organ from the late 1960s. Along the way we hear from Handel, Britten, and the Abschied (“Farewell”) from Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde as arranged by Schoenberg.
