Opera Double Bill

Matthew Burtner's Kuik and Purcell's Dido and Aeneas

Experience a unique evening at the opera. Our latest production of Purcell's masterpiece will be preceded by the world premiere of Kuik, a multi-media opera by Virginia composer Matthew Burtner.

Cast for Kuik includes Haleh Abghawi, Paul Tiffany, and others.

Dido features Jennifer Lane (Dido/Scorceress), Amanda Balestrieri (Belinda), David Allen Newman (Aeneas), the Madison Singers, and the SMF Baroque Players; Jennifer Lane, stage director; Carsten Schmidt, musical director.
