As the culmination of Springfest, the final concert includes two of Schubert and Brahms’ most important chamber works. Crossing the divide between Hausmusik and concert fare, Schubert’s captivating Fantasie in F Minor for piano four-hands remains one of the treasures of the genre. The second of Brahms’ three piano trios, written in the early 1880s, demonstrates his mature ability to write symphonically for even the smallest ensembles. The program also includes choral and vocal works from both composers including Schubert's rarely heard Hebrew setting of Psalm 92.
